Colours at Night

The other night, something odd happened as I was about to sleep.  I turned off the light beside my bed.  The only other light is a faint orange glow from the on/off switch of a powerbar at the floor.  I closed my eyes and I saw splashes of colours moving around.  There were silhouettes of something short and worm like moving around.  I thought I was already in a half awake / half asleep dream world.  I opened my eyes and saw darkness.  I closed it and all those colours appeared again.  I repeated it several times with the same result.

Shortly afterwards, I fell asleep.  The next night, those colours appeared again but were almost bleached out.  They never showed up again.

Hopefully I’m not going crazy.

  1. Not going crazy. Those are called “floaters” and it is just normal left overs of the brain getting signals from the retina. Enjoy the show.

  2. I don’t know…I don’t know if “floaters” are colorful. ???
    Guess it’s time to google.

I doubt it’s crazy-related…why? ‘Cause I’ve never seen them. 😉 😛 Surely I would have seen them by now if they were crazy-related. 😀

  3. If you’re explaining what I’ve had before, then I get them from time to time, too. This isn’t the first time you’ve had this, is it? Geez Louise, the “Suggested” WordPress posts (showing other people’s posts) is displaying a blog post with the most freakiest picture on it. I’ll send this post now so I don’t have to keep looking at it lol

  4. Haha, I don’t think you’re going crazy. I’ve had problems sleeping for sometime now, and there is that strange time between falling asleep and actual sleep that creates for weird imagery. It’s almost a dream state, but not quite. Life is such a mystery. 🙂

  5. i believe this is normal. i get that too sometimes. knowing it is some sort of ‘leftover’ vision and that there is no such thing as complete darkness, i just ignore it and learn to deal with it.
